Chuck
Chuck is a donkey who was surrendered to us by his owner in 2011. He was under weight and not up to date on any of his health records. Chuck needed more socialization and work on his ground manners when haltered. However, he worked on learning his manners and became a fun little pasture mate! He was adopted and went to live in his new forever home where he has plenty of space to run around and friends to keep him company!

Ducky
Ducky is an off-the-track thoroughbred who was rescued with fellow alumni, Jesse, in 2010. After not being able to perform like her previous owners wanted, Ducky was going to be sent to slaughter. Lucky for her, Sunrise Equine Rescue stepped in and began this lovable girl's rehabilitation. It was not an easy road, as Ducky needed a patient and reliable rider to help her succeed and feel more comfortable. However, in 2017, Ducky got just that! She now lives a happy and healthy life with her new adopter!

Jesse
Jesse is a very goofy off-the-track thoroughbred! He was rescued in 2010 with fellow SER alumni, Ducky, when the two were headed off to slaughter. Jesse had had a failed racing career previously, winding up in the feedlot only a couple months after his last lost race. Despite his situation, Jesse became a fantastic pleasure horse with a fun-loving attitude! After his recovery and rehabilitation with Sunrise Equine Rescue, Jesse was officially adopted by his new forever owner in 2012 who continues to love him unconditionally.

Mr. Ed
Mr. Ed is an adorable miniature horse who was found neglected and abandoned in somebody's backyard. After his previous owners surrendered him to Sunrise Equine Rescue, we began his rehabilitation. He was gelded and brought back to good health by our organization. After his full recovery, he was adopted by the president of Sunrise Equine Rescue, Janean Dolezal, and has become our official mascot! Mr. Ed (often referred to as Mr. Ed-ucation) often comes along with us to all of our fundraising events, so stop by any of our public fundraisers for a chance to meet this little guy!

Oreo

Oreo is a miniature horse who was surrendered to Sunrise Equine Rescue after his previous owners no longer had the means to care for him. He'd previously foundered, which made his circumstances a little more complicated. Despite his situation, Oreo was a happy little guy with a great attitude! He found his forever home in 2019 with a special owner who will love and cherish him for the rest of his life!

Puck & Apache
Puck (the white one) and his best friend Apache (the brown one) were surrendered to us in March of 2021. They had both not received vet care nor farrier care in some time and Apache had an old leg injury that had not been attended to, but that didn't stop them from being the sweetest pair around. In June of 2022 this lovable pair found their new home together!

Snickers
Snickers is a miniature horse mare who was surrendered to us by her previous owner who were unable to provide her the proper care she needed. Snickers had lost her mother to colic and was confined to a large kennel. When we received her, she was on the verge of serious illness. Now, with the proper nutrition, wormer, and vaccinations, Snickers is on the road to recovery! With the help of therapeutic massage, her legs are also recovering from severely overgrown cow hocked hooves. Snickers was adopted by our massage therapist and loves her new forever family.

Summer
Summer's former owner was in the process of losing her farm and had no where to place this high spirited dream. She presented Sunrise Equine Rescue with many behavioral challenges, as she was never properly socialized as a foal. In 2017, Summer found her new forever owner that has been able to help her work through and overcome many obstacles. These two make a fantastic pair!
