Mr. Ed-U-cation       Owned and Loved by Janean Dolezal,                                                     President of Sunrise Equine Rescue

Mr. Ed was a 10 year old stallion when he came to us.  He was malnourished and had overgrown hooves.  He kicked and bit and had no vaccinations.  He was gelded in 2014 and now sees life in a whole new light.  He has made friends at the barn and has become our mascot for Sunrise Equine Rescue.  We now refer to him as Mr. Ed-U-Cation.

Mr. Ed-U-cation is our mascot who educates our followers on the ins and outs of equine care and handling.  Every month Mr. Ed-U-cation will post great tidbits on the ways of the equine as well as interesting facts about Sunrise Equine Rescue (SER).  Mr. Ed-U-cation knows first hand how it can be when a horse just doesn't seem to get the care he or she needs.  He is a great example of how Sunrise Equine Rescue is able to help our equine friends lead  safe wonderful productive lives.

We all have holiday visions this time of year. Horses pulling sleighs and decorations hung throughout the town.  However, we must also keep in mind horses need to have winter maintenance procedures in place. This includes checking their water twice a day and providing enough food for foraging as well as ensuring they have plenty of warmth by putting on their winter blankets.  Remember to always have your winter maintenance plan in place!
